We are partnering up with SLU ISA to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity this Saturday. We are looking forward to teaming up with other St. Louis area students to give back to our local community and would love for you to join us! After the event, we will be hosting a bonding in the DUC Formal Lounge with SLU. If you can’t make the volunteer timings, you are also welcome to just attend the bonding.
Volunteer hours: 10am-2pm (we will meet earlier to carpool)
Bonding: 2:30pm-3:30pm in DUC Formal Lounge
If you are interested, please sign up on the google form:
The Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis ReStore has a three-fold mission:
– Provide additional financial support for the Saint Louis affiliate of Habitat for Humanity;
– Offer a lower-cost alternative to a traditional hardware store;
– Facilitate reuse and waste reduction by diverting construction and household materials from landfills.
Important Reminders from Habitat for Humanity:
– Volunteers MUST be over 16 years of age.
– All volunteers MUST wear closed toed/heeled shoes as well and clothing you do not mind getting dirty or stained. Feel free to bring work gloves.
With midterms season in full swing, we all could BENEFIT from a little study break full of good food and better company!
Come out this Wednesday from 6 to 10 pm for Ashoka’s Benefit Night at 3 Kings Public House! Proceeds will go to the Shayel Mohanty Patnaik scholarship for College Prep Scholars.
We hope to see you all there 🙂
Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great time at our 1st GBM, Ashoka Retreat, Samosas and Mimosas, and Dance Team and Skit Try Outs! We just wanted to remind everyone that it is not too late to be involved in the Diwali Show. There is still time to sign up to be a part of Diya Lighting, Fashion Show, Class Dances, STL A Capella, and Diwali Committee!
If you are interested in any of these positions, please reach out to Suparna Malia or Anvita Devineni at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope you all consider being involved in what a lot of members of the show would agree is the best thing to be a part of at WashU! We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi Class of 2021! Welcome to Wash U! We are so excited to meet you all in August, but until then, here is some information about us. Ashoka is Wash U’s South Asian Cultural Group. We host social events (such as our Formal and Semi-Formal), cultural events (such as the annual Diwali Show and Holi), philanthropic and social awareness focused events (such as round table discussions, benefit nights, and Bazaar) and much more. We will be having a welcome back event, as well as a General Body meeting and a Diwali Interest meeting very soon, so if you are at all interested, please stop by at any/all of these. Until then, feel free to contact us about any questions, concerns, or comments you may have. Our email and links to our Facebook page and Instagram are listed on the “Contact Us” page. See you all soon!
We are so proud of our Seniors for all they’ve accomplished over these past 4 years! It was amazing getting to know you all and being a part of the South Asian community with you. We cannot wait to see what great things you all do as Wash U alums. Please stay in touch and visit. Congratulations and we wish you all the best of luck! 🎉
